KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is the national airline of the Netherlands and a subsidiary of Air France-KLM. KLM is the oldest airline in the world which employs more than 33,000 people.


The KLM logo was created in 1961 by F.H.K. Henrion and revised in 1991 by Chris Ludlow of Henrion, Ludlow & Schmidt.

The memorable stylized crown in the KLM logo comprises of four circles, a line, and a plus. It gives a regal feel to the emblem for Royal Dutch Airlines by “crowning” the initials. The simplified and elegant treatment of the crown contributes to the visual distinctiveness, recognition and brilliance of the overall logo.
