Headquartered in Richfield, Minnesota, Best Buy has been declared the “Company of the Year” (2004) and “America’s Most Generous Corporations” (2005) by Forbes magazine.

Shape and Color of the Best Buy Logo:
The “yellow tag” logo of the Best Buy was first introduced in 1989. It has since become one of the most easily identifiable logos in the corporate world, thanks to its simplicity and attractiveness. The yellow color in the Best Buy logo represents joy and optimism, while the black color depicts excellence, quality and elegance.
Sound of Music, Inc. was the parent company of Best Buy Co., Inc. Best Buy changed its name in 1983. The company continued to use the existing logo of “Sound of Music” introduced in 1966. Another logo, with the new company name, “Best Buy Co.”, was finally unveiled in 1983.
In 2008, a “test” logo was launched which used a modified version of Klavika typeface. It featured a refined tag, giving it a modernistic, fresh and contemporary look. The logo appears at select stores of Best Buy, however its replacement status still remains unspecified.
